Enlisted Mar 69 Bypass Specialist already worked for DuPont Computer section. Direct Duty Assignment to Laughlin AFB Del Rio TX - pilot training support. Had wanted Vietnam assignment. Finally got orders to MACV Hq Saigont. Did 4 tours till war ended plus 69 days (I spoke Vietnamese). Then Military Airlift Command Hq 1 year. Pentagon Command & Control 6 years. Stroke, service connected disability

Computer Analyst
Share information with special forces, extract info from hamlet chiefs for reporting to the head staff e.g. Westmoreland, Abrahms. Participate in local info reporting like Cambodia incursions. Advanced to 1133 SAS for "vietnamization" phase under Nixon. Got blown out of a Huey at 100 feet woke up in 3rd field hospital. Was able to complete my reports but ended up blown into a bunker backwards and broke my back. Again recovered enough to be able to do my reports. Laughlin was fun before this and Scott was fun after this and the Pentagon was a fantastic 6 years but THIS is my war story!
