Bio

After the leaving the Navy I went back to college, I worked at a TV station and I have worked for Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon (both big aerospace companies). The last few years before I retired I worked for a smaller consulting firm, they were a lot more fun and easy going (I'm done with high stress jobs).

Military Experiences

Jan 1970 - Jul 1972
After BEE school and ICA school I served on the USS Oklahoma City (CLG-5). Most of the time we were off the cost of Vietnam. Like they said in the movie "from the Delta to the DMZ". We did do a day light raid on Haiphong Harbor North Vietnam. I found that I don't like being shoot at. Just two(2) months before I was due to rotate back to CONUS. A MIG dropped a torpedo off our starboard side and it was running straight and true headed for our midships. Thank God for Russian weapons, the torpedo blow it's self up about 1000 yards short of the ship. One of the other ships in the flotilla, a DD, took a hit in one of the Gun batteries. Some damage but no one killed.
