After leaving Vietnam, I got a job with the County Road Dept. After 10 years working in a lab, I was promoted to Construction Inspector. 9 years later I was a Supervising Construction Inspector. I retired after 40 years & wife & I moved to Gettysburg, Pa where we do Civil War Living History presentations.

Field Artillery Surveyor
After 6 months at Ft. Sill, Ok. I did a 2nd tour to Nam. We did high order surveying. We set up Triangulation Stations on mountain tops throughout II Corps. No guns in this unit. We took helicopters to the tops of mountains, or carried our equipment up the slopes on our backs. No guard duty or KP.

Field Artillery Surveyor
Guard duty, KP until August when I was put on a detail to set up the various buildings. Kept me off KP and guard duty until I left.

Field Artillery Surveyor
We set up positions for 2-8" and 2-175mm self-propelled guns. Gave support to Australian infantry. Then we did KP, guard duty and night patrols.
