Crew Chief / Scout
I first came in Country I was D-1/7 Cav, 11C mos
went on to 11B assistant machine gunner 3 missions in the bush they went home to Fort Hood, I stayed became a Scout with F troop 9th Cav. with 85 combat assault missions. My guarantee was Vietnam 1 year duration. i moved around. however the war ended for us and was optioned out since i could not stay a full year, I was promised full benefits and honorable discharge. come to find out later i lost 2 years of school benefits because i didn't spend a min. 18 months in service 2 months short! i could have had choice of duty station. to this day I still have not received my final discharge papers.
Also I was put in for a Bronze Star for saving a Captain who was ambushed and never got it only to find out on my way home my name was changed.
