Crash and Salvage
Fire fighting aircraft rescue. Damage control. We manned the MC5 fire truck and CAU's firefighting tractors. A part of V-1 division Aviation Boatswain Mate Handlers.
I worked 16 hours a day seven days a week at sea. Had several aircraft accidents, busted aircraft landing cable, fires and mostly the same ole routine. We cleaned and maintained the firefighting equipment, hoses, and the flight deck AFFF system. It was a time of learning and I enjoyed the Med cruises we went on. All in all, it was fun of our youth and I would do it again.
