I am a published author. My first book, Viet Nam Body Count, is about my 1st 3 months in Viet Nam. My second book is KÖLN LETTERS, a fiction about letters found at a 2,000-year-old Jewish site in Germany.

Hull Maintenance Technician (HT)
I led an anit-war demonstration on the USS Truxtun after we left Viet Nam and were ordered to return. We were on our way to Japan. We are passing Okinawa. That meant that we would not be home for Thanksgiving and maybe not even Christmas.

On USS Truxtun, I was the Scene Leader for the helos that landed on our ship daily. My battle station was at a repair locker because my job was to make sure that the ship did not sink once it got hit.
I stood sounding and security watch.
I was one of the ship's, welders, plumbers, and fix it guys.
