Bio
CDR Tappe joined the Nuclear Power Program in 1990. After completing the nuclear power pipeline, he reported for duty on the USS BIRMINGHAM (SSN 695). After completing two Western Pacific deployments, he left SSN-695 for NAVIMFAC Pearl Harbor where he was accepted into the Navy’s ECP program at the University of Idaho. After commissioning, he reported as student naval flight officer to the Navy Aviation Training Command at Pensacola Florida. In 2003 he redesignated as an Engineering Duty Officer. As an EDO, he has served at PSNS&IMF; as an IA in Iraq; as the D5 Missile Re-Entry Branch Head/Launcher Division Heat at SSP, Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program Management Office in Sunnyvale, CA;at PHNSY, at SUBPAC as the N4 type desk officer, and at TRF Bangor as a Repair Officer.
