Girard earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston with a major in Communication Arts. He is a U.S. Army Special Troops Veteran and was a Founding Member of the California Cable Television Association Cablecasting Committee, is a former Voting Member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (EMMY), and the GRAMMY Recording Academy.
