I proudly served, as a non-prior federal service, commissioned officer, Emergency Services and Security branch, 1st Security Battalion, Oregon National Guard Reserve -- a State Defense Force. By statute, we were the state's "Civil Defense Force." As a Lieutenant, I also served in a Major's slot as Ass't S3 and Training Officer, 1st Security Group (of three Security battalions)
