Military Experiences

May 1962 - Apr 1966
Specialist
Worked in the Fueling, Erection, and Firing Sections on the Corporal Field Artilary Missle. I operated a 10,000 PSI Air Compressor that charged the missle's air tanks. Our Unit deployed monthly on 10 day field exercises in Northern Italy. I was at Longarone near the dam when the Vijaunt Dam Disaster occured on October 9, 1963 killing approximately 2500 people in three villages below the dam. On Saturdays our unit entertained and educated the many soldiers of War Collages from many different allied countries, and we also entertained the cadets from U.S. Military Service Acadamies by showing them the details of how we prepare and fire these missles.
