I started as a Marine at age 17 in 1974, MOS 2531/8981 running the MARS station at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. In 1981 I transitioned to the Army to become a helicopter pilot, but there was a Reduction in Force that killed that. In 1986 I joined the Iowa Air Guard 132nd TFW as a 46250 Weapons Shop member. Later that became 2W171 and I completed my CCAF. I retired with 36+ years.
