Bio 

After retiring from the Navy, I worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC for 13 years in different capacities and subsidiaries. The subsidiary was sold and I took a job in Nashville for 5 years at a start-up associated with Vanderbilt. I worked for a start-up in Silicon Valley for 2 years before returning to BCBS back in Columbia until now-Palmetto GBA. I was ordained a Catholic deacon in 2016.

Medical Service Corps Officer
Worked in the Managed Care Office of Naval Hospital Portsmouth, VA as the liaison between the CO and the original Tricare Office for the Tidewater area. Worked on both internal and external partnership programs, developing the first Healthcare Finder office, implementing a true Tri-service collaborative healthcare delivery system. Finished up my last year as the OIC of Building One, the oldest continuously running hospital in the United States. Retired.

Was assigned to the Managed Care Office for administrate the Catchment Area Management Demonstration Project for the Charleston Catchment Area. Work with Capt Taylor Cook MD to develop the first triple option healthcare plan for the military (PPO, HMO, and standard) and worked with Congress to implement Tricare for Life benefits. Testified before congress on the benefits of managed care within the military.
