Newly arrived replacement as a rifleman in 3 rd squad 2nd plt. participating in Operation Ripper. BARman in CCF Spring Offensive primarily at Horseshoe Ridge followup actions. Rifle squad leader during pushback to 38th parallel in late spring and Punchbowl battles in fall; Hills 749, 812, 884 etc. This was the last UN major offensive before stalemate. From then on it was night and day patrols. Very fortunate being in same line company entire deployment without being injured.
