I joined the Army in 1986 and went to Fort Benning for 13 weeks for 1 station training program. I got orders to go to Fort Ord California. The place had awesome weather and was sunny most days. I trained at Fort Hunter Liggett and Fort Thompson most of the time but also went to the N.T.C.(National Training Center) at Fort Irwin in the Mojave Desert. I was deployed to Panama for Operation Just Cause and Honduras for Operation Golden Pheasant.
