Unfortunately the Detail only last one week on the island and several weeks in Hawaii before joining the main body in Guam preparing to deploy to Saudi Arabia for participation in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Deployed with NMCB 40 as the Quality Control Petty and Safety Petty Officer. The deployment was cut short due to Desert Sheild. We redeployed to Hawaii then Guam.

Deployed with NMCB 40 from Midway Island to prepare for redeployment to Saudi Arabia in support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. My job changed several times in the first week. I started in Charlie Company then transferred to be the Safety Petty Officer, then back to Embark as the Air Echelon Petty Officer preparing equipment for air transport.
