Operations Specialist First Class
After boot camp and Radar A school I went to the USS Topeka for 18 months then was assigned to a COMCRUDEST Flotiila for several years. Then 3+ years on the saltiest ship in the Navy USS Morton. Then 3 years in Waterloo Iowa as a recruiter. Then a year on an 8" Destroyer USS Hull. Left active duty returning to Waterloo as a TEMAC Recruiter.
I left the Navy after 12.5 years going to work with the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller for 25+ years. I went from GS5 VRA selection to Operations Manager and Acting Air Traffic Manager GS15.
My retirement has been filled with lots of work with veterans organizations. The best result from thatis that I met and married my Navy Veteran wife through the American Legion. I now live in the West Virginia mountains.
