I entered the Marine Corps at 29 years old after a 7 year career with the Dalton Fire Department. I picked up Corporal in less than 2 years and Sergeant in just over 5 years. The only regret I have is not re-enlisting.

Safety/HAZMAT NCO & Fire Warden/Fire Safety Officer
My responsibilities as a NCO were to supervise the repair of communications electronics equipment including laptops, PCs, Satellite Wide Area Networks, fiber optics systems and cables, transitioning switching modules, etc. and to ensure the welfare and discipline of my junior Marines. I was also responsible for the handling of hazardous waste and the safety of my platoon as the Safety and HAZMAT NCO. I was also the Fire Warden/Fire Safety Officer for my building assigned by the squadron.

As a student in Alpha Company MCCES I learned the basics of electronics in Basic Electronics Course and then moved on to my MOS course a TSPIRC.

Our unit, MWCS-28 was responsible for the repair and maintenance of all communication equipment for the entire 2nd MAW at Al Asad.
