Bio
Newly divorced father of four working to be the best Dad I can. Recently earned my bachelor's degree and hoping to "rebrand" myself away from the field of journalism into criminal justice. My time in the Army seems like a lifetime ago, and only two of my four children know I even served - it simply doesn't come up that often.
Military Experiences
Jul 1999 - Jul 2000
Bridge Crewmember
After leaving Basic and AIT (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, I was assigned to Fort Riley. Did what any low-level 12C would do - followed orders, kept my head down, stayed out of trouble. Built a few bridges in FTXs. Was released from Active Duty in July 2000 after earning a Green to Gold Scholarship (flubbed up that opportunity, but that's another story).
Deployments
(5 months)Aug 2004 - Dec 2004
Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
As a new E-5, served in an E-7 slot as brigade-level Legal NCO for the 593d Corps Support Group under LTC Richard Schenck, CSM Robin Shackelford and CPT Scott DiRocco (trial counsel). The short deployment was due to the fact that I was a replacement for the previous Legal NCO who had gotten in some legal trouble.
