Bio
I'm 30 y/o and spent 7 years, 11 months and 29 days in the army. When I left the army became my whole life but also who I was. I would have done it for the rest of my life if I'd been allowed, but it wasn't meant to be. While I was competing at the group level for the soldier of the I was injured and ended up with degenerative disc disease. Because of that I'm now medically retired.
Military Experiences
Jun 2009 - Aug 2015
Transportation Specialist
I started as a run off the mill truck driver, won soldier of the year and then deployed. After injuring my spine in a LOD injury and could no longer drive trucks due needing narcotics to control the pain my supply sergeant took over my charge by moving me from 2nd plt to headquarters plt and because we didn't have one and I was the only one with hands on experience to the point of being competent, being able to answer questions and teach blocks of instruction but without formal training became the acting company commo specialist.
Deployments
(1 year)May 2010 - Apr 2011
Kuwait
I was the driver of a gun truck and part of a CET team that provided security for line haul convoys. I was usually the lead gun truck but also was in the CET commander's truck and rear gun truck. We're started with 4 gun trucks but eventually developed and implemented the SOP for a 5 truck team. Once this occurred I became the rabbit truck.
