For almost 40 years, I worked as a military journalist, newspaper editor and Army civilian public relations practitioner at locations around the globe. From drafting feature stories during the Vietnam era through coverage of the Lake Placid Olympics, I’ve documented airmen at work worldwide through his writing, editing and photographic skills – an Air Force career that spanned 23 years. For almost 40 years, I've worked as a military journalist, newspaper editor and Army civilian public relations practitioner at locations around the globe. Office manager for 6-person staff serving the information needs of 7,000-plus military and civilian customers. Managed production of weekly 24-page tabloid commercial enterprise base newspaper with 5,000 circulation, assuring compliance with governing Air Force and DOD regulations, and host island sensitivities. Responsible for all office administrative functions during 8-month absence of administrative support. Developed database-tracking system to coordinate production of all information products within the division to include computer automated suspense and events logs. Public affairs resource manager for $40,000-plus in office assets.
