My parents (now retired) were Protestant missionaries in rural Brazil, with Wycliffe Bible Translators. I have personal experience with the whole -- get ripped out by the roots and shuffled to a new place every few years. About half of the adult men were vets, mostly Marines (oo-rah!). I tried to enlist in '81, but got P-3ed. That is physical disability, incurable. (Eyesight was .03% off!)
