Sergeant First Class Joel M. O’Bradovic enlisted into the United States Army Reserve in March 1996 from Middletown, Ohio as a Military Police Officer. He served in the Military Police Corps with the 342nd Military Police Company Detachment 1, Troy, Ohio from March 1996 – May 2005. In January 2002, Sergeant First Class O’Bradovic was deployed with the 342nd Military Police Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Kandahar, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In January 2004, he was again deployed with the 342nd Military Police Company to Fort Riley, Kansas in support of Operation Noble Eagle.
In May 2005, Sergeant First Class O’Bradovic was selected for the Active Guard Reserve Program and was assigned to the United States Army Recruiting Command, Colerain Recruiting Station in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served for just over six years as Recruiter, Team Leader and Center Commander. In August 2011 Sergeant First Class O’Bradovic was assigned to the Army Medical Recruiting Brigade and is now serving as a Center Commander in the Boston Medical Recruiting Company in Portland, Maine.
Sergeant First Class O’Bradovic is a graduate of the United States Army Recruiting Course, Center Commander Course, United States Army Healthcare Recruiting Course and Senior Leaders Course. He is currently enrolled in a Bachelors of Arts program for Advertising/Public Relations with The Pennsylvania State University where he also received his Associates of Arts in Letters, Arts and Sciences – Social Science in August 2012.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal with 2 Bronze Knots, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Ribbon - second award, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal - second award with Bronze Hour Glass and “M” Device, Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Commanding General’s Gold Badge with 3 sapphires, Recruiting Ring and he has been inducted as a Member of the Glenn E.
