Bio
I was born in Indianapolis Indiana and lived there till I was 9, then we moved on to California. After graduating form Chino High School I joined the Marines and became an Armament Repair Tech, drill instructor, and water survival instructor. After reaching my high year tenure mark I left the Marines and took my experience to the Navy, working mostly as a ships company AO until retirement.

Production Manager
Working toward the ship change of homeport to Yokosuka Japan, we prepared magazines during the INSERVE, carried out sea trials, conducted drills, simulated at sea in port, and prepared the crew for carrier operations. We helped the pilots in Mayport receive their carrier qualifications while we were underway to San Diego. After leaving Chile we experienced a fire on board that extended our in port schedule in San Diego where I received my retirement authorization. I retired in December 2008.

Magazine Supervisor
Magazine and asset management Leading Petty Officer. Handled loadout request from various agents throughout the SW Region. Prepared load requests for delivery to different stations on the island to include piers and landing fields. Also supported civilian requests for asset distribution such as LAPD, SWAT, Coast Guard ETC. I got to learn about the requirements for ordnance for NATO forces in training, as well as worked with Navy SEAL instructors, and MARSOC. When I left the UAV program was getting underway. A lot of this work concerned the packaging and transportation requirements for explosive assets, including public roads and waterways.

Magazine Supervisor
Worked in G-3 Magazines, transferred to G-5 QA division, transferred to G-1 Aircraft Weapons Support Equipment shop. Spent 4 months as the Shipboard Safety Representative for ordnance. Set up weapons magazines for INSERV inspection and subsequent homeport change to San Diego. Stood up the Quality Assurance division, basically rebuilding it from scratch. Ran the QA shop throughout the ship's deployment schedule in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Managed 5 personnel and 7 programs for weapons Quality Assurance, Technical Library, Certification and Training, Asset accountability, Ordnance discrepancy reporting, Safety and Tracking of asset reclassification notices. Ran the internal communications board for magazines during deployment onloads, loadouts, and General Quarters. An adventure it was!

MCAS Yuma
Operation Pharynx Thrust. It was the first one after WTI was disbanded. This operation involved three locations Ours in Yuma, one in Pendleton and one in Miramar Operating within the Chocolate Mountain ranges. The aircraft having three locations to utilize as a resupply point. We were grossly overworked during this det.

Futenma Japan
One of many deployments here, operating to support the 13th MEU. I worked as an Armament Equipment Repair Tech for guns and Airborne Weapons Support Equipment. I was also Work Center Supervisor on later deployments in both shops, and a collateral duty inspector. While here we also provided asset support for squadrons at Kadena.

Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. A lot like CAX for us but not for training purposes. My time at CAX and previous experience with other deployments certainly prepared me for this. We transported munitions, containerized and assembled to various locations throughout the theatre. Our crew was sent to Tannijib for a time to operate a combat FARP
