Military Experiences

Jan 1968 - Jul 1970
Munitions Testing
This was a Munition testing squadron. We transported munitions from storage to the aircraft that were flying the test, sometimes building the munitions to be tested. Spent a month running over aerial delivered land mines with a APC (armored personal carrier) checking the pattern that they landed in. They were live mines. Anti personal mines. Worked on Operation Concrete Sky the testing of the aircraft housings that are now used worldwide. We tested their strength, when testing was over we got to blow them up. Our largest blast was 9000 lbs. of bombs. Also worked in the YTP lab at Hill AFB. We would x-ray the first 2 stages of Minuteman missile's. Looking for cracked motors and other defects. There were 2 of the biggest Linear Accelerators in the world, 25 Million electron volts.
