Enlisted as a Quartermaster. Served on the USS Flatley, USS Mount Witney, USS Hermitage. Special Boat 20 in training department and boat captain selected as Chief Petty Officer. Transferred to USS South Carolina were I was selected as a Deck LDO. Bos'n on USS Pensacola, Assistant Ops at ACB 2, Deck Department head USS Ponce, Port Service Officer, Korea.
