Operation New Dawn (OND)
As the Senior Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, I ensured that all assigned organizational vehicles remained 100% mission capable and operational; efforts resulted in completing every fiscal year ending with zero non-mission capable vehicles. I supervised a team of 14 maintenance professionals and repair supplies and equipment valued over $4.5M in the monitoring, scheduling, and performance of wheeled vehicle mechanical support. I was appointed as the department Safety Manager to ensure that all maintenance duties are performed following federal and organizational safety and risk mitigation regulation. As the Range Operations NCOIC, I averted near-daily scheduling crisis, drove range participation and safety milestones, and revised reporting instructions leveraging senior leadership priorities. I managed the life cycle change and implementation of multiple range systems while coordinating numerous range activities throughout many distant locations. Assisted in the planning and execution of all weapon ranges, and deployment training requirements for 14 subordinate units consisting of more than 3,000 personnel. I served as Range Scheduler managing the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) used for scheduling Army controlled ranges, facilities and training land at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. I provided technical assistance to military and civilian range users on range scheduling requirements and issues. The organization range complex consists of 28,000 acres training facility with fourteen small arms training ranges; 10 permanent impact areas totaling 1,100 acres; 9 established live-fire ranges; 6 non-firing training facilities; 4 drop zones; 1 flight landing strip, 1 Urban Operation joint training facility. I resolved issues of range scheduling, authorized occupancy, and conflicts of collocated or simultaneous events. I made decisions and recommendations that were based on the development and evaluation of information that came from various sources.
