Bio
Semi-retired journalist for a weekly newspaper covering Piscataquis County and Eastern Penobscot County, Maine. I have about 30 years experience in print journalism and another 15 in radio. I've lived in Maine since 1972.
Military Experiences
I was on active duty from 1961-64 and served at Fort Knox, Ky., West Point (as an enlisted instructor) and Camp Beavers, Korea which no longer exists. I spent 25 years in the 76th Division U.S. Army Reserves in Augusta, Maine as a weapons instructor, drill sergeant, instructor at the drill sergeant school in Fort Devens, Mass., and three years as a first sergeant back at my old unit in Augusta. My unit was deactivated in 1994, so I lost my diamond but thankfully kept my pay grade.

I ran the commo shop and repaired radios for armored vehicles. In those days, you replaced tubes, spliced wires and hoped for the best!
