I joined the USMCR coming out of high school in 1986. I served honorably for six years, including a deployment in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After completing my initial 6x2 Marine Corps contract I went to work in civilian side of the world. After 18 years away, I decided to come back into the uniformed services with the Army. I became a combat medic and then eventually/currently an Eye Specialist (68Y). My ultimate goal would be to get into the Active Component, apparently not an easy thing to do if you are "prior service".
