I was a member of Charlie Company, 1/504 PIR. I was assigned to 504 PIR Headquarters after sustaining a torn meniscus while jumping out of a C-130. Col. William "Iron Mike" Steel was the Brigade Commander. I have been awarded 2 Army Achievement Medals (Army Achievement Medal Oak Leaf Cluster) during my time with the 504 PIR. I was medically retired in 1987.
