Civil Affairs Team Leader
The duty of a Civil Affairs Team (CAT)is to act as a liaison between the battlespace commander and the civilian population to maximize mobility and ensure the safety of non-combatants and their assets. A CAT Leader is responsible for training and supervising a team of 2-3 CA Operators to support these efforts.

Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) - Afghanistan
Deployed to the Arghandab Distrtict in Kandahar province with B Co. 1/17 INF, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), 2nd Infantry Division. Unit was charged with securing the "Greenbelt" surrounding the Arghandab river and regularly made contact with Taliban forces already entrenched in the area.
