Joined April 13, 1970. Basic training at Ft Jackson SC, AIT Ft Jackson as a 64C ( Light truck driver) that MOS was later changed to 88M. 1977 transferred to Infantry 2nd Bn, Bravo Company 152dn Inf., 38th Infantry Div. as a Sgt. Was in the Army Reserve as a SSG for one year, 1982, as Drill Sergeant in 70th Inf. Div. Transferred back to 38th Inf Div and retired from 438th Chem. Co. as SFC IN 1995.

Plt Sgt of Recon Platoon and later Plt Sgt of Smoke. As Recon Platoon our mission was to locate and secure areas for Chemical Co to set up and operate decontamination stations in the event of chemical warfare. This included aerial recon, area recon, and route recon. As Plt Sgt in Smoke Platoon I coordinated smoke operations for for an attacking unit and or an evading unit depending upon the situation.

Ended in Mar 1995
