04 AUGUST: From Naples Italy to and through the Suez Canal in a 24 Hour period. OPERATION: DESERT SHIELD. THE MIGHTY IKE was the first unit to respond to the invasion of Kuwait.

NMCB 74 Air Detachment in Support of Operation Ahuas Tara II.
We turned a jungle and mosquito invested clearing into a an Airfield, built our own camp of SEA Huts and a base camp for elements of the 101st AB and FA. We did not (officially) cross any other international borders in aid of those opposing an oppressive regime.
