Military Experiences

Oct 1999 - Sep 2010
Airborne Integrated Electronics Tech - SSGT
Accepted a job with the 169th IS, as an Airborne Integrated Electronics Tech. Went to Tech school at Kessler AFB, for Electronics Warfare systems, graduated top of my class, and accelerated the course leaving with only having missed 3 questions the whole 5 months. From there came home for 2 weeks and then went to SEER School to learn survival and evasion techniques for my new airborne position. What a blast. Came home in July, and started flying as a AMT trainee, had some awesome instructors and friends, Chief Mike Jaecke, SMSgt Matt Garnes, MSgt (4-ever)Dennis Thomson, SMSgt Matt 'Skippy' Littlefield, Chief Thomas Carolus, SMSgt Josh Adams, MSgt Ryan Stock, and so many more. They made the 11 years as a AMT the best time and job I could have had.
Aug 1998 - Oct 1999
Aviation Electronic Tech - SSGT
Worked as a UT ANG Traditional reservist , working on KC-130, Communications Shop. Really didn't do much here. Was just something to get me working towards a retirement. During this time I learned the systems on the KC-130, on drill weekends I did what I could to help. When I joined the ANG I was allowed to keep my rank of E-5, but lost my time in service. (that sucked)
Sep 1996 - Apr 1998
Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) - P02
Last duty station, I left the BOOMERS, went to 'I' maintenance training for my Shore duty rotation at NAS Whidbey Island, I level. I worked on various avionics for the EA-6B and the P-3 Orion. Later was assigned (last assignment) as the GSE supervisor for the flight line. Enjoyed this, I wanted to be a supervisor and with all the other E-5's in the shops, it wasn't going to happen so I took this offer when it came up. I left the Navy in April 1998 to return Home.
Jun 1993 - May 1996
Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) PO 3rd / 2ndClass
Started as a 3rd Class in the Shop, soon sent to the Troubleshooters where I put on E-5, PO 2nd Class. I worked as a TS through a Red Flag and Roving Sands deployments. Was in the Shop during our build to the next and last Cruise aboard the USS Nimitz from Dec - May of 1996 for another Southern Watch and also a small stink off of Taiwan. This was to be my last Navy Cruise, and I will really miss the BOOMERS. This squadron was probably my favorite duty while I was in the Navy. Many friends I will miss.
