• In this area of responsibility ordered vendor equipment, project management, and design reviews with the customer, install vendor, and vendor Support Engineer. Once the SONET/DWDM equipment has been installed to customer specifications and configured with network management applications and network up and in place.
• Provided solid troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of voice and data-DS1s, channel banks, and DS3s.
• Provided testing and turn-up on Nortel Broadband OC48 and OC192 networks. Provisioning, commissioning, testing, and general maintenance on generators, network elements, and various other vendor multiplexers.
• Used fiber microscope, digital multimeter, optical power meter, VF transmission tester, and variable optical attenuator test equipment. Initial strapping and power-up procedure, interconnected panel wiring, download procedures, local alarm test and verification, remote alarm test and verification, and relay function checks for fault alarm equipment.
• Isolated trouble faults on WDM, ADM nodes, and fiber optic circuits and DS3 mapper circuits; troubleshoot remotely on OPCs on the SONET-based network and protection switching.
• Provided operations, maintenance, and support of midrange, VAX/VMS, and AS400 systems such as password resets and other support.
• Also experienced in MS Server, Open Text/Live link, Outlook 2010, Windows 7/8, Citrix, Citrix XennApp, CRM, and Sophos.
