National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

.DAY ONE...Outlook through Tonight.

Severe thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and tonight across all
of Central Alabama. Threats include tornadoes, large hail, damaging
winds, and isolated flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of storm spotters and emergency management will be needed
this afternoon and tonight.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Fayette, Lamar, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 649 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jasper, Fayette, Cordova, Carbon Hill, Gordo, Reform,
Millport, Carrollton, Arley, Berry, Parrish, Oakman, Addison,
Kennedy, Sipsey, Kansas, Nauvoo, Belk, Eldridge and Bankston.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
