Has anyone been to the NCOA in camp parks California? How was the experience? I had to leave BLC in Mccoy due to a death in the family. So just wondering how this one is.

I went last June. They were tough and quite a few people failed out of the academy for various reasons, a huge factor being the pt test, especially the push up. They are incredibly strict on the push ups in particular so make sure to not only meet the 90 degree, but break the plane. Other than that, the course was clear and concise and there was a great deal of professionalism with the SGL’s. You will gain a lot out of this school, just make sure to really practice for evals and study as much as you can! Good luck!

I went to BLC 3 months after getting out of IET. we weren’t treated as such by any stretch of the imagination. Only thing that resembled that was not being allowed off post or being allowed to wear civvies. We never got smoked, and were treated like the adults that we were.

I have not been to NCOA, but I have been to Camp Parks. Dublin and Pleasanton are nice, not much to do. SF, SJ and the Bay area are a short 45-75 minute drive depending on traffic. I'd say check out Los Gatos or Saratoga or Campbell, which are smaller towns with a fancy night life on your down time. SF is almost always nice, but unless you know where you are going, you could get lost easier. Just a big city.
