Applying for presumptive conditions is important to all, even if you are currently 100% disabled rated or if approval of the request would not materially benefit you now. The VA pays a benefit to your survivors if you die of an acknowledged condition and your survivors meet income conditions.

PACT is a great example of the hype not being close to reality.
Yes the act added a few new presumptive conditions -- which is great for those who have those specific conditions and can document the exposure, but most of the hullabaloo about the PACT Act has been the pretense that it magically helps veterans getting their exposure documented - but it doesn't.
DOD knows almost every 'exposure' -- it would be simple enough to come up with a list of the where and when (embarrassing, but simple enough). They could even identify the majority of people who were exposed by matching up assignment records with that list of where and when. Instead what the PACT Act does is require each veteran to figure out what they were exposed to, where, and when they were exposed, then prove it and try to document that some condition you have was caused by that exposure (nearly impossible unless your condition is on the 'presumptive' list)
