I do! However, who decides what are the actual facts?

SrA John Monette - Hopefully after some research, rather than playing the confirmation basis game the media plays with us.

Ultimately we should Dave. But, only after some research and thought.

CWO3 (Join to see) Problem is, so much is hidden or twisted it's getting harder and harder to find actual facts. Or we get information overload.

Facts are facts. One is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.

However, finding what is fact and what is spin sometimes takes effort, which far too many choose not to exert.

Easier to practice confirmation bias and let media guide them by confirming what they already believe, rather than research and form a genuine original thought.

Everything is “spin” because we see facts through our own imperfect lens. Even your question shows your view of the world. I suggest most people make decisions and take action based on their perception of the facts. Our freedoms allow us to express our different perceptions of the facts more so than most other societies.

But as SEN Moynihan reminded us, "Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts."

Agreed. I'm glad we have free speech but truth in the media has become a relative term. They should tell us the who what when and where. Let us decide the why, because their leading documentary is having an adverse effect on many things, including how we treat each other.

CWO3 (Join to see) - Your original questions didn't talk about the news media. I agree honest journalism should clearly differentiate between facts and opinions. Many news outlets have allowed their opinions to greatly influence their presentation of the facts--or lack thereof. In an effort to grab "clicks" or a few minuets of our time, many news outlets try to sensationalize everything.

Lt Col Jim Coe - It began when "news" became a profit center vice public service IMO. News used to be an hour long, and now its 24/7 because it's profitable. Thanks for your thoughts.
