It's a step in the right direction, but it's only a slight increase to the VISNs that are using it now.
The VA has 170 medical centers (VAMCs) currently and the EHR has been in testing at a number of them since 2020. This expansion will being it up to a total of 13 VAMCs using it by next year.
Considering all the start/stop/start/stop and other issues they've had with the rollout of this and the previous incarnations of the EHR implementation ... I would put my faith at the 'hopeful, but not optimistic' level they would be able to expand it to the other 157 VAMCs in five years.
