Vietnam: Jane Fonda makes first of 10 broadcasts on Radio Hanoi.
In August 1972 American actress Jane Fonda visited Hanoi as a guest of the North Vietnamese government, inviting criticism and condemnation – and earning her the nickname ‘Hanoi Jane’.
"...the people have taken power into their own hands, and they are controlling their own lives. And after 4,000 years of struggling against nature and foreign invaders – and the last 25 years, prior to the revolution, of struggling against French colonialism -I don’t think that the people of Vietnam are about to compromise in any way, shape or form about the freedom and independence of their country."

Thank you my friend COL John McClellan for the sad reminder.
I expect many young people are ignorant of this benighted acting out by Jane Fonda and her her future husband Tom Hayden as they kowtowed to Hanoi and she betrayed the trust of imprisoned POWs.
