Uplift and Earthquake Activity ACCELERATES In-Between Two Volcanoes in Ethiopia
Another about geophysics - this one the East African Rift (Pangea still rifting apart!)
I haven't know it to be this active. It should be noted that our solar system just passed through the a 180 degree view of the galaxy center and black hole (mid december), which is believed to have effects in the increased activity of our sun, then its effects on earth, during the approach and after it.

Noted today there has been volcanic action, that is supposedly something of a mystery - given what is expected because it is the middle of the most notorious rift on earth. I haven't had the time to look further into the expected process of a kimberlite "eruption". But am wondering if that is what has been witnessed. Geologists on RP might know more about that.
From what I have read about kimberlite eruptions the outcome at the surface resembles what has been described. Kimberlite is the type of rock in which diamonds are most often found - which of course has to be within a temperature and pressure range to create diamonds. Not sure whether or not they are created before the kimberlite reaches the surface, or in the process of reaching the surface.
