The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Women’s Health (OWH) has launched a new program – the VA Women’s Health Reengagement Training (heaRT). This program is for women Veterans that are interested in understanding what VA health care services are available and how to access them.
Did You Know?
All VA facilities have a designated Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) to help women Veterans access VA benefits and health care services. The WVPM, usually a practitioner with a clinical background, is an advocate for women Veterans. Each VA facility has a designated WVPM you can contact to ask questions about health services, enrollment, and general health system navigation. In the training program you’ll be able to learn more about this and much more on women- and Veteran-centered services the VA offers.
Connect with fellow women Veterans in your community and learn how to navigate VA enrollment and health care services. All training sessions are designed, developed, and delivered by women Veterans, for women Veterans! Register for a training session today.
Why VA Health Care Should be an Option For You:
You have distinct health care needs as an individual, a woman, and a Veteran. VA is uniquely equipped to care for you and understands the impact of your service on your health. There are a number of women advocates inside VA to help you navigate your health journey and providers that are trained specifically for your woman- and Veteran-centered health care needs.
How You Will Benefit from Attending the Training:
Through the VA Women’s Health Reengagement Training (heaRT), you will have the opportunity to connect with fellow Veteran women in your communities. You will learn about what Veteran-and women-centered VA health care services are available to you:
Preventive care and wellness
Women’s health services
Whole health & mental health services
How to determine VA care eligibility and enroll in VA
