I don't have a question. I just wanted to say hello. I was with you as your Sapper Squad Leader in 2/504. Your brother was my Company XO as well. There are many things over my career that I will never forget and one of them are your words of comfort after the crash at green ramp. I also served with you agin....we were at FOS Carlson. God Bless.

Sir,
I have often wondered that when a Senior Officer retires, how is life in the civilian world? I guess I mean to say are you able to do most things as normal people do, or are you mobbed by people who know your professional status and have questions or attention seekers? I would think that someone like you would have a celebrity like status, which might get old very quickly. Thank you Sir for leading our Military! Hooah!

Small groups that immerse , believe and grow civilized cultural relations. Commendable, more importantly to the gratitude and acceptance of the Iraq people. We are only appreciated if there is happinesss together. I believe this too.

General McChrystal, In the book, Team of Teams, I find the role of the gardener versus chess player interesting. Integrating teams with big box or branded units has an appeal to it. The book mixes the great man theory of leadership with behind the scene hobby farmer, cultivating, nurturing plants in the garden and the maintenance of pulling weeds. Eyes on...Hands off...I get that.
Was the rubric gardening role predictable and measureable at all levels of the organization, client, customer, and partners alike? How would the gardener leadership style fit in the Leadership/Managerial Grid? This is a novel idea.
I think that a comparison study between gardener and chess player may be worth the effort. Using the chess player as the controller or standard role. Your thoughts?
