I've seen it on every Marine Base. Both sides suffer. Wives know. and suspect some kind of deployment when the fleet is in. They believe separation is inevitable
within 24hrs. Marines, onboard ship/plane sending a message of apology to spouse for leaving on such a sort notice. Much more to this that needs to be told.

That is everyday for me. Between Basic, AIT and my deployment, I was home 30 days in 2 years. My wife raised our 2 boys for 2 years by herself and kept the fires burning at home. Scott was 2 years old and Kevin was 3 months old when I left. She did a great job and has stuck with me for an additional 49 years
