Great command post Sgt (Join to see)! Having a practical job search really is key. Shoot for the stars, but put yourself in the hiring manager's shoes: Do I want to hire a person with a resume that doesn't read well for my open position? Knowing the role and keeping it in the back of your mind when talking to the recruiter helps convey how great you could be at it. Tie things in...Relate stories and examples of how you did similar tasks in the military and are open to learning a new process to be successful again. Thanks for sharing all this great info!

Certainly! Glad that I can contribute. More to come in the future, hopefully.

God post. Job seekers also want to ensure that their social media profiles (such as LinkedIn) reflect the same skills and experience. Don't use your MOS code, use your job title or civilian equivalent. You can bet that a prospective employer is going to look there so you want him or her to see something worth looking at.

Don't forget the profile picture, either. Do NOT leave this space empty; no employer wants to hire a nondescript head. Have a professional looking photo: preferably in business attire or in your dress uniform. This may be the first look a prospective employer gets and you want to make it count.
