In DA Pam 670-1, Ch 22–16 (Combat and special skill badges and tabs), para 7d(2) "Personnel may wear up to five badges above the U.S. Army tape so long as space allows for the badges on the individual’s uniform. Personnel may only wear one combat or special skill badge from either group 1 or group 2. Soldiers may wear up to five badges from groups 3 and 4. One badge from either group 1 or group 2 may be worn with badges from groups 3 and 4 so long as the total number of badges on the combat uniform does not exceed five."

Now look at the attached figure 22-63. They show a CIB (cat1) worn with a CMB (cat2). Soooooo, is this an error? Am I reading this wrong?

I'm assigned to a MEDDAC, and I don't want to assume, but I believe it's saying "wear one badge from cat 1, or one badge from cat 2, but not both at the same time...

THOUGHTS?

That looks like crap, how did the Army go from the "Tower of Power" to a brick of shit? you cant even fit 3 sets of wings on the new uniforms without one being on your shoulder.

The picture and the photo do seem to contradict. Happens a lot in supply regs. I was always told written word over photos.

In regards to the original post- As a Parachute Rigger, we find many errors in the pictures in our manuals and are taught from a very young age to never "picture rig". I would assume the same line of logic applies here... Believe what you read, not what you see.

Off the topic a tiny bit... Your post was the closest I could find to answering my question (even though I'm afraid that I'm not going to like the answer). I am a week away from graduating Military Free Fall School. This will give me my third badge... I already know that the proper wear of three badges is stacked on top of each other. The problem is that my Senior Parachutist wings will then overlap the top seam on my blouse. So do I have to choose a badge not to wear? If I did, it would probably be my Rigger badge. However, that decision will probably be looked down on seeing as how I am currently a Parachute Rigger AIT Instructor.
