Your disability from military service, does it make you regret it?

I see and hear about so many disabilities: exposure to Agent Orange, being paralyzed, missing limbs, cancer, asthma, PTSD, anxiety, IBS, inability to handles large crowds, headaches, headaches, bad surgeries, neck pain,...the list goes on. All/only attributed to your military service....
If you could do it again and not have these injuries that disabled you, would you? Or, what would you have done differently?

Life is about Choices I chose twice to serve my country and I would not change those choices for anything.

I agree, but I also choice to get married to my 1st wife, and regret that, lol. I did get a wonderful daughter from that marriage, however. Drive on.

I dont regret serving and for doing the things I have done in service to my country. I just wish I would have prepared my body better for them. As an aircrew member I have done more 'touch-n-goes' than I like to recount, especially in the mighty C-130. Over many landings over my career my spine has taken a toll to the point of 2 rods, 3 cages and six screws fusing them altogether. Was it worth it....heck yah! It was the most fun and terrifying time of my life but I wouldn't change it for anything. But like I said, I would have prepared my body better for it.

Ha, know what you mean MSgt Jamie Lyons, my first day of FE advanced flight training, those new pilots in training, bounced us 6 times on one stretch of runway for their first set of touch & goes, it was more like Touch & go-a-go-a-go-a-go-a-go-ago! And that set the tone for the next 4 hours, I'll NEVER forget it! Fortunately, they caught on well after that first day.

Yes ma'am MSgt McCalister....flying the flag pole for pilot currency. Oh the days of such fun with new pilots. I remember asking those young Lt's if the wanted to log all 6 landings with that approach. Haha

No regrets here. My STBI has truly made me a better man, husband, and father. The problem is not change but how you deal and adapt. I refuse to be anything but great.
