I’m due in the next few weeks. I am in the Reserves and my husband is in the National Guard. With the new maternity/paternity leave regulations, how does time off apply for non-active duty soldiers??

According to Army Directive 2016-09, "Troop Program Unit (TPU) Soldiers are not eligible for maternity leave, but are excused from any battle assembly (weekend drill) and annual training occurring within the 84 calendar day period immediately following a birth event. Commanders may not disapprove maternity leave." But, Army Directive 2019-05 might say something different. I will have to check on my civilian computer when I get home to get a better view as to what it states. Stand by.

UPDATE:

Looks like I was able to locate it. It states: "Applicability. This directive applies to Regular Army Soldiers on active duty, reserve component Soldiers performing active Guard and Reserve duty or full-time National Guard duty for a period in excess of 12 months, and reserve component Soldiers
performing duty under a call or order to active service in excess of 12 months"
