Will the North Korean government fall if/when China ends trade with them?

If China were to stop supporting North Korea, I can see one of two things happening. 1) North Korea military would attack South Korea. 2) North Korea's senior leadership would stage a coup and overthrow Kim.

Your right, it would be a short list of events. Mine is even shorter. I believe that only #2 would happen, unless Kim somehow fired something across the border before they could stop him. The General's know, without China, what happens next. It would be time to make friends with the south and avoid a personal lynching.

Question is - if the starving populace of N. Korea did revolt and manage to over throw their government (at a huge cost of civilian life), would we get involved? Now that they are a nuclear power, I am assuming many countries would have interest in ensuring that a nuclear arsenal stayed confined or controlled and not potentially sold off to the highest bidder. I got $20 USD and a McDonald's Big Mac on the first warhead.. I've always wanted my own WMD. :P

ENS (Join to see) - In my Scientific Wild ASS Guess, I'd bet shortly after cutting of trade, the Chinese would stabilize the situation with "EXTREME PREJUDICE".
