Will being selected for 153A during my first few years cause me to forfeit my initial enlistment bonus?

If selected for 153A before my 6 year contract is up, will I forfeit my signing bonus attached to my initial enlistment contract? I am enlisting Aug 15 in the National Guard with the intention of applying for 153A after a few years. Also, apologies on listing my rank here as PVT. I didn’t see the option to list myself as a recruit.

I appreciate the feedback. I am mostly asking because I am on the fence between two 13 series MOS, one with and one without a bonus. I know I’d like to submit a packet at some point for 153A, and believe I have decent odds at eventually being selected since I have a bachelors degree, 132 GT, great health, and a few hours logged toward a private helicopter pilots license. Obviously a lot stands between now and then, but if I were to know I’d forfeit a signing bonus anyways, then I’d opt for my preferred MOS that doesn’t include a signing bonus.

It’s been a long time since I’ve dealt with a situation like this but years ago you would get the bonus and any future installments on that anniversary. This would continue every year until the total was paid out. If you applied and were selected for WOFT, those payments would stop. I would focus on the short term of enlisting and discuss this scenario with your recruiter and eventually someone from finance. Best of luck.
